Before joining Afore, Jake founded a software company during high school, where he gained significant experience. He then focused on mentoring young founders through Rough Draft, Contrary, and Start@Shea. He interned at multiple companies from pre-seed to IPO stages, including CrowdStrike, Eightfold, and Fictiv, and worked with nine VC firms such as Accel, Battery Ventures, and Foundation Capital.
