Matthew Nichols

Matt has two decades of experience as an investor and operator of early-stage technology companies, particularly in commerce and retail technology. Before joining Commerce Ventures, Matt was CEO of Gemvara, an innovative jewelry e-commerce company sold to Berkshire Hathaway. He also worked as a venture capitalist at Highland Capital Partners and Morgan Stanley Venture Partners, investing in companies like Bullhorn, Pixable, and Avamar. He began his career in Morgan Stanley’s Technology Corporate Finance team and contributed to the Google IPO.
